Biography

I was born in Quebec City in 2006 and have lived in Cap-Rouge with my parents and sister ever since. From a young age, I have always been passionate by nature, especially when it came to animals. My real interest in biology began at high school, where I had my first-ever biology class on the human body. My curiosity for nature never faded away and only grew stronger during my college years where I had an outstanding biology course on biological systems. Around the same time, I noticed a growing fascination with microbiological entities and how they can cause certain diseases. I also enjoyed working in a lab during my chemistry courses. These interests led me to consider many programs for my bachelor’s degree. I ultimately chose to pursue a degree in Microbiology at Université Laval, where I have just completed my first year as a student. Eager to gain experience, I decided to seek an internship for the summer and joined Landry Lab to work on antifungal resistance.

Research interests

Given the growing concern around antibiotic and antifungal resistance amongst pathogens, understanding how resistance can occur is of particular interest to me. I also want to study pathogenic microorganisms further, especially those for which few effective treatments currently exist.
